How to Start a Vending Machine Business

It isn’t very hard to start a vending machine business at all. It is hard to predict the sales you will realize with this business, as there are many factors involved and it will depend upon the situation. The first thing to look at is obtaining a license or a sellers permit. This will allow you to sell goods from your vending machines. You may have as many machines as you want under this license, as a part of your business. If what you are selling costs less than 15 cents, you do not need a license or permit for your vending sales.

Costs for vending machines vary according to the size and type of vending machines you will be using in your vending machine business. Most vendors start out with two smaller machines, these could contain candy or gumballs, rubber balls or stickers. While these machines are smaller and less expensive, they do generate a good deal of money. You will need to look at the cost of the machines, cost of the merchandise, and where you will place the machines to even begin to predict the sales you may realize.

Below is a table to show how you much money you could make from one candy or gum ball machine.

This is your weekly income from one machine. You can see where the machine will pay for itself in a very short time. If you buy a used machine you will see it cleared a great deal sooner.

Now lets say you have 20, 40 or 60 machines. How much profit will you realize if you had over 100 machines on your vending machine business route? You will need to fill your machines and collect your money at least once a week, and make sure you keep your machines clean as nobody wants to buy food from a dirty machine.

Once you have recouped the money you spent on your first vending machines, you will be ready to add more machines to your route. Invest in different and unusual vending machines to beat out the competition. Make sure you find more great places to set your machines. You will be surprised how soon you will realize enough money to be your own boss. When you are making more money you will be able to quit your regular job and work smart only a few hours a week, instead of the hard 40+ you’ve been putting in for years.

Another great thing about the vending machine business is the fact that you can service your machines yourself, or hire another to do it for you when your business gets going. This will give you all the time you want with your family, and to do more productive things in your life. Another beautiful thing about your vending machine business is that there is no overhead.
